Mint néma fohászt, mit magadba zársz,
Úgy temetett mélyre az éj sötétje…
Takarjon el, ha indulni kell,
Lepelként óvjon a rögös úton…
Mert indulni kell, oly messzire el,
Ahol a semmi vár, mégis otthon a táj…
Hol megszülettem, ott lesz keresztem,
S megkondul halkan az ódon lélekharang…
Az én keresztem a menedékem,
Egyetlen vétkem, hogy nem reméltem…
Minden álmom, ébren várom,
Szélbe kiáltok, végre szabad vagyok…
Harang zúgjon a keresztúton,
Viharfellegek, most nem mehetek veletek…
Ha útra keltem, visszatértem,
Lélekharang-ének búcsúzott tőlem…
Keresztfámon megpihenek,
Engem hívnak most a szelek,
Az ősök előtt fejet hajtok,
Értem zúgjatok harangok…

And the old soul bell slowly tolls…
My cross is my refuge,
My only fault was not hoping…
For all my dreams, I wait awake
I cry in the wind, I am finally free…
Soul bell must toll on the crossroad,
Storm clouds, I cannot go with you now…
If I left, I came back,
Soul bell sung goodbye to me…
I find peace on my cross,
The winds, they calling me…
I bow to the ancestors,
Bells toll for me…

Odakint már
meghalt a világ…
Letépett szárnyaim,
Megfagyott álmaim,
Nem hív rég
csak a messzeség…
Egy halott pillanat,
Nekem csak ez maradt,
Csendesen
végleg megpihen…
Csendesen várom azt a napot,
Hogy csendesen mindent hátra hagyok,
S csendesen a vérben megmaradok…

My torn wings,
My frozen dreams,
Nothing calls me for a while,
But the distance…
A dead moment,
What is only left for me,
Peacefully
Rest forever…
I wait peacefully for the day,
When I quietly leave everything behind,
And I silently pass the torch further on…

Mint a téli félhomály,
Úgy indulnék már,
De az óra körbejár…
Rohannék patakparton,
Szállnék hegyek felett,
A szélbe kapaszkodnék,
Hogy megkeresselek…
De minden egyes perccel,
Nehezebb elindulnom,
Mert rettegem a napot,
Mikor ott vársz rám az úton…
Mert megtalállak egyszer,
Talán ott a keresztúton,
S mint a tóba hulló könnycsepp,
Összefonódik a sorsunk…
Vérből lettem, porrá leszek,
Percek alatt úgy tűnök el,
Mint a tűzbe veszett papírlapok,
Reménytelenül, csendesen…
Szolga voltam, szabad leszek,
Együtt szállok majd a széllel,
Lecsukódik most a szemem,
Érzem végre hazatérek…

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Le temps des métaphores est révolu : l'humidité froide, c'est celle des larmes qui coulent sur le visage à cause de la dépression. Tout pleure dans cet album : les guitares typées DSBM grésillent, les solos ("The Damp Chill of Life", "It's Painless To Let Go") sont liquides et coulent, les voix prennent à la gorge ; même le piano, étranglé par les sanglots ("Cease"), est aphone.
